I live in southern New Mexico where the weather can be hot like the chile and cold like the ice in your tea. Black Bird Studio where I teach and do my own art thing is in the Mesilla Valley where it's green with farmland and lots of birds. This is where I ride my bike and walk, looking for inspiration in the landscape and colors in the area here.
Drawing has always a part of my life since I was a very young child. I won my first award and scholarship as early as junior high school and twice again as a high school student. As an adult, while working on my degree, I taught art at the elementary level. Later, still while raising a family I worked as a professional decorative painter and muralist and ran a very lucrative business in Northern California, Noël's Wall Artistry. I worked on residential and commercial projects and also for many local interior designers. This was my career for 12 years. After retiring from that field, I began my printmaking studies and continued painting on canvas as a fine artist.
I have numerous solo and group shows to my credit and have judged and curated for different art organizations. I have won awards for both my prints and paintings in local, national and international shows. I am a member of the California Society of Printmakers and am currently president of ArtForms of Las Cruces and a member of the 10 o’clock club, a Las Cruces Art group. My work can be found in the States and abroad.
