I live in southern New Mexico where we have long hot summers and somewhat cold winters. Black Bird Studio in Mesilla Park was founded here in 2019 and this is where I teach and do my own art. Here near my home in Mesilla, it's green with farmland and we have lots of migratory birds and at the Bosque you can find native wildlife too.
Drawing has always been a part of my life since I was a very young child. I won my first award and scholarship as early as junior high school and twice again as a high school student. As an adult, while working on my degree, I taught art at the elementary level. Later, still while raising a family I worked as a professional decorative painter and muralist and ran a very lucrative business in Northern California, Noël's Wall Artistry. I worked on residential and commercial projects and also for many local interior designers. This was my career for 12 years. After retiring from that field, I began my printmaking studies and continued painting on canvas as a fine artist.
I have numerous solo and group shows to my credit and have judged and curated for different art organizations. I have won awards for both my prints and paintings in local, national and international shows. I am a member of the California Society of Printmakers and am a board member of ArtForms Artists of Las Cruces and a member of the 10 o’clock club, a Las Cruces Art group. My work can be found in the States and abroad.
